Who are we?
I’m Anishka Mathur, an aspiring 9th grader with a deep passion for both the arts and data science. As a co-owner of a project focused on promoting local theatres, I am dedicated to helping these often-underappreciated spaces gain the recognition and support they deserve. By combining data analysis with creative insight, our project aims to elevate local theatres, increasing both their visibility and community engagement.
Outside of this initiative, I have a strong interest in debate, writing, and reading, which help refine my critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills. I also express my creativity through crocheting, an art form that allows me to design intricate pieces and embrace patience and precision. These interests shape my approach to both academic and artistic challenges, blending logic with creative expression.
I believe theatre has a powerful ability to unite people, offering a space for shared stories and experiences. Through this project, I hope to contribute to the growth and impact of local theatres, ensuring they continue to inspire, connect, and enrich our communities.
Hey, I’m Manya Raisinghani. I’m someone who’s always loved theater—not just the shows, but the people, the energy, the way it brings everyone together. I made this site because I wanted to make it easier to find and support local theaters in the DMV area. Not the big-name stages, but the real ones — the ones tucked into neighborhoods, schools, churches — the places where people make magic with whatever they’ve got.
I act, I sing, I write. I’m also into data science, which might sound like the opposite of theater, but honestly? It helps me stay organized and figure out how to actually build things that work. Lately I’ve been learning Blender, just to stretch my brain and see what else is possible.
I care about the community. I care about making things that help people feel seen. I’ve had kids come up to me after a performance and ask me to come see their shows — and that always sticks with me. If this site can help someone find their way into a theater, join a cast, or just sit in a seat and feel something, then it’s doing what it’s supposed to do.
Also, I enjoy writing poems.
